I stumbled into the Brotherhood gig having not picked up a pencil in 10 years, and it’s pretty apparent in most of the earlier strips. I had no clue as to panel lay-out, how to pace a joke through a series of little white boxes, or even how to draw a really hot ass. In “Another Victory” though, for the first time, I could see I was startin’ to get a handle on the boys. The format looked cleaner than the strips that had come before, the boys were fun to look at - not just occasionally funny - and I was comfortable enough with what I was doin’ to plant a few easter eggs in the strip, like some of Henkl’s tatts or the Lovecraft reference. Also, I had managed to give both Henkl and his boy really hot asses!
