The Brotherhood Goes To Hell - Part III: Damned!
December 1st, 2005 by Tyler
Wielding the good book, Bible-Thumper opens a chasm descending into Hell; and The Brotherhood tumbles in.
L’il Myles muses on each of his new friends and their chances of redemption.
This is, by far, the least favorite strip I’ve done. It stemmed from a feeling that I’d started a long, drawn-out adventure for the characters without giving the readers a chance to find out the particular quirks of each one. Out of that, and a lot of doubt that I had over my abilities to pull a comic strip off, came this lame, sort-of-confusing effort.
That these are Myles’ reflections on his lover and new friends is hard to figure out, and I don’t think people figgered out that the “blood on velvet” was the Redneck’s blood on Henkl’s coat. In the end, the writing was crippled by a feeling that I’d sabotaged both that story-line and the whole strip before I’d even gotten started.
Looking back, there’s a lot of strips I wish I could revamp, knowing now what I didn’t then, but this remains the one I wish I could toss altogether…
