What You Do Is Who You Are

I’ve worked as a barn boy, at a sour cabbage factory, dug ditches, drove a forklift in a carpet warehouse, been a waiter, a busser, and a retail drone. Made a fool of myself as a set decorator, taught high school, gotten my hands sticky as a masseuse, and pointed out the exits as a flight attendant. All of these jobs had people assuming different things about me, though I was the same person throughout.
